YEA: Empowering Young Voices for Safer Roads
YEA, the Youth Engagement App, is an innovative tool that allows young people to easily identify and report road safety conditions around their schools. YEA helps young people actively participate in improving road safety, giving them a voice in shaping their communities.

A Simple, Institutive Interface
YEA’s intuitive interface makes it simple for young people to drop pins on a map on their journey to school and show where they feel safe or unsafe. They can take or upload photos, select simple descriptions, and provide detailed comments about traffic conditions and infrastructure issues.

Actionable Insights for Safety Interventions
Data collected with YEA is directly integrated into the Star Rating for Schools (SR4S) platform. By analyzing concentrations of YEA pin clusters, authorities can efficiently identify locations with a high frequency of safety concerns. These can become the focus of in-depth SR4S assessments, supporting the development of targeted road safety measures.

More Than Just Data Collection
YEA is a platform for fostering open communication and collaboration between young people and decision-makers. By enabling young people to actively engage in road safety, YEA empowers them to become changemakers, shaping safer roads for themselves and their communities.
