Cada día, 500 niños mueren en accidentes de tráfico prevenibles en todo el mundo. A veces los matan a solo unos metros de la entrada de la escuela.
Cada muerte y lesión de tránsito viola el derecho de un niño a la educación.
Star Rating for Schools (SR4S) es una herramienta basada en evidencia para medir, gestionar y comunicar el riesgo al que están expuestos los niños en un viaje a la escuela. Apoya intervenciones rápidas que salvan vidas y previenen lesiones graves desde el primer día.
Naciones Unidas ha incluido la seguridad vial en su Objetivo de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) 3.6. SR4S es clave para cumplir con estos objetivos globales para los peatones niños y adolescentes.
SR4S recibió un prestigioso Premio Internacional de Seguridad Vial Prince Michael en diciembre de 2018, reconociendo el enorme potencial de la aplicación para reducir el riesgo y salvar la vida de los peatones en todo el mundo.
