The University of Philippines (UP) National Centre for Transportation Studies (NCTS), in collaboration with ImagineLaw, conducted a training session on Star Rating for Schools (SR4S) in Cagayan De Oro City on March 17 2023. The training was attended by representatives from various offices, including:

  • Road and Traffic Administration
  • Office of the Building Official
  • City Social Welfare and Development Office
  • City Engineer’s Office
  • City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Department
  • Department of Education
  • Department of Public Works and Highways.

The training follows pilot city Star Rating for Schools assessments as part of a UNICEF project called “Sustaining Actions for Enhanced Child Traffic Injury Data, Local Government Advocacy, and Safe Journeys of Children in Selected Pilot Sites in the Philippines”. In two phases, the project assessed safety around 41 schools in Valenzuela City, 25 schools in Zamboanga City, 26 schools in Angeles City, 26 schools in Cagayan De Oro City, and 26 schools in Valenzuela City.
