The revamped programme will continue to\u00a0support advocacy initiatives\u00a0aimed at advancing\u00a0safe, clean, inclusive, and smart mobility.<\/p>\n<p>The SSMGP is organized around four key thematic areas:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Road safety interventions for urban mobility<\/strong>: Supporting actions to protect vulnerable road users in cities using tools such as the FIA School Assessment Toolkit, iRAP\u2019s Star Rating for Schools (SR4S), and CycleRAP to guide safe infrastructure upgrades.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Helmet and Motorcycle safety<\/strong>: Strengthening the FIA Helmet Wearing Programme, establishing helmet wearing coalitions and addressing helmet standards and testing protocols.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Support the implementation of national\/local policies for safe and sustainable mobility around key risk factors<\/strong>: Implementing national road safety strategies, WHO Decade of Action Global Plan measures, and actions to meet national CO2 reduction targets.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Advocacy events for safe and sustainable mobility:<\/strong>\u00a0Workshops with policymakers, awareness days on key mobility issues, and briefings for journalists and media.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>This year, seven FIA member Clubs have been selected to lead innovative projects using iRAP methodologies and tools under SSMGP:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/starratingforschools.org\/\"><strong>Star Rating for Schools (SR4S)<\/strong><\/a><strong>:<\/strong>\u00a0Associacao Automob\u00edlistica do Brasil (Brazil), Automovil Club de Chile (Chile), Automobile Association of Tanzania (Tanzania), and Palestinian Motor Sport and Motorcycle Federation (Palestine) are implementing school zone assessments with SR4S to advocate for safer infrastructure for children. Since 2021, the FIA SSMGP has supported 32 projects utilizing SR4S. This marks the first time the Brazilian club has implemented a safe school zone project using SR4S, while the other clubs are building on the success of previous initiatives.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/irap.org\/cyclerap\/\"><strong>CycleRAP<\/strong><\/a><strong>:<\/strong>\u00a0Automovel Club de Portugal (Portugal) and Automobile and Motorcycle Association of\u00a0Slovenia\u00a0(Slovenia) will use CycleRAP to assess cycling infrastructure. Notably, Slovenia\u2019s participation marks the country\u2019s first CycleRAP project led by an FIA club.<\/li>\n<li><strong>iRAP Star Rating Assessment:<\/strong>\u00a0Automovil Club de Guatemala (Guatemala) will carry out a road assessment across a 200 km network using iRAP\u2019s Star Rating methodology to evaluate road safety risks and identify priority areas for improvement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These projects highlight the FIA\u2019s ongoing efforts to improve road safety and mobility worldwide.
