Original content from UP NCTS<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n On November 22, 2024, the\u00a0Traffic Engineering and Management-Road Safety Research Laboratory (TEM-RSRL)<\/strong>, under the\u00a0UP National Center for Transportation Studies (UP NCTS)<\/strong>, hosted a webinar titled \u201cSafe Roads, Bright Futures: How Child Road Traffic Injury Prevention (CRTIP), iRAP, and Tactical Urbanism are Protecting Children.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n The webinar highlighted the integration of diverse road safety strategies, including\u00a0iRAP\u2019s Star Rating for Schools (SR4S)<\/strong>, outcomes of the\u00a0Child Road Traffic Injury Prevention (CRTIP)<\/strong>\u00a0project, and community-driven approaches through\u00a0tactical urbanism<\/strong>. These efforts aim to reduce child road traffic injuries in the Philippines, aligning with the\u00a0UN Decade of Action for Road Safety (2021\u20132030)<\/strong>\u00a0and the Philippines\u2019 commitment to the\u00a02030 Agenda for Sustainable Development<\/strong>, particularly\u00a0Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3 and 11<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Star Rating for Schools Coordinator, Minh Vo spoke at the online session, discussing the use of SR4S in identifying high-risk school zones and implementing data-driven interventions.
