These awards recognise their work in achieving the commitment of national and local authorities to establish speed limits of 30km\/h in areas where traffic intersects with vulnerable users, especially around schools.<\/p>\n A Pioneer in Road Safety<\/strong><\/p>\n The Prince Michael International Road Safety Award, a global accolade celebrating excellence in road safety, honors the ACM\u2019s ground breaking work in establishing 30km\/h speed limits in areas with high pedestrian and cyclist traffic.<\/p>\n The ACM has been instrumental in improving road safety around schools in Moldova. With the support of the\u00a0FIA Foundation<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0EASST<\/a>, the ACM successfully lobbied for and implemented a policy change mandating a 30km\/h speed limit in all school zones. To further enhance safety, the ACM has utilized the\u00a0Star Rating for Schools<\/a>\u00a0App to assess and improve three schools in the northern region of Moldova. The\u00a0International Vision Zero for Youth Leadership Award<\/a>\u00a0recognizes and highlights innovative road safety practices to inspire other decisionmakers to take steps towards reaching zero traffic deaths among children and youth.<\/p>\n This recognition underscores Moldova\u2019s outstanding commitment to creating safer streets for its youngest and most vulnerable citizens.
