2025 marked a milestone year for the Star Rating for Schools (SR4S) programme, celebrating five years of global impact and collaboration.<\/strong><\/p>\n The anniversary was recognised in early 2025 alongside partners from around the world at the\u00a04th Global Ministerial Conference in Morocco<\/a>.<\/p>\n As the year drew to a close, SR4S proudly congratulated our school partners for completing assessments at nearly\u00a02,500 schools across 84 countries<\/strong>.<\/p>\n These assessments are informing critical road upgrades that are helping to protect\u00a0more than half a million children<\/strong>\u00a0every day.<\/p>\n Throughout 2025, SR4S continued to benefit from strong partnerships with FIA Club members and CHI Advocacy Hub partners, leading to school zone improvements in Bolivia, Botswana, Chile, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova and Peru.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”2_5″ _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_image src=”https:\/\/starratingforschools.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/SR4S-updated-stats-for-web-4.png” title_text=”SR4S updated stats for web (4)” _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][\/et_pb_image][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” custom_margin=”0px||||false|false” custom_padding=”0px||||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.27.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n Furthermore, long-standing advocacy by school partners in Georgia<\/a>,\u00a0Peru<\/a>,\u00a0Saudi Arabia<\/a>,\u00a0Tunisia<\/a>, and\u00a0Vietnam<\/a>\u00a0was recognised internationally, with these partners receiving the prestigious\u00a02025 Prince Michael Awards<\/a>.<\/p>\n SR4S also strengthened our engagement in national advocacy efforts aimed at reducing child road traffic fatalities and injuries, notably in\u00a0Cambodia<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Vietnam<\/a>, reinforcing the programme\u2019s role in shaping safer school environments at policy and practice levels.<\/p>\n Innovation remained at the heart of SR4S in 2025. The flagship AI&Me framework, comprising Big Data Screening, Youth Engagement App (YEA) and SR4S, has been expanded to\u00a0Indonesia<\/a>. Collaboration with founding sponsor FedEx was rejuvenated through support for the\u00a0Caminho Seguro<\/a>\u00a0project in Brazil, the first tactical urbanism initiative in Porto Alegre featuring educational street art. Significant upgrades to the Youth Engagement App (YEA) were also completed, followed by successful new pilots in Chile, South Africa and Peru.<\/p>\n Looking Ahead to 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n The coming year will align with the launch of the\u00a0UN Decade of Sustainable Transport (2026\u20132035)<\/a>. SR4S will respond by integrating bicycle star rating into the platform alongside the existing pedestrian star rating, enabling more comprehensive assessments of active mobility infrastructure surrounding schools. Simultaneously, new functions leveraging advances in artificial intelligence will be introduced to improve the efficiency and scalability of large-scale assessments.<\/p>\n As 2025 concludes, SR4S acknowledges the essential support of the Founding Sponsor,\u00a0FedEx<\/a>, Major Donor\u00a0FIA Foundation<\/a>, and Global Programme Partner\u00a0Prudence Foundation<\/a>.
