March 2019: Rafaela Machado (Star Rating for Schools Programme Coordinator, iRAP) and Julio Urzua (Regional Director of The Americas, iRAP) joined leading road safety agencies John Hopkins International Injury Research Unit, The Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP), Vital StrategiesWorld BankGlobal NCAPPan American Health Organization and the Global Designing Cities Initiative in running interactive training at the GRSP Road Safety Leadership Course in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The Star Rating for Schools assessment tool was presented to 65 road safety professionals during the interactive one-day training which included an overview of the systematic, evidence-based approach for analysing the risk in roads around schools, as well as a field trip to observe the SR4S tool in action.

The GRSP Leadership Course is conducted biannually by GRSP in partnership with Johns Hopkins University and supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies, with over 60 road safety professionals trained at each event.

The Global Road Safety Leadership Course aims at building leadership capacity to design, advocate for, and implement effective road safety programs and policies. The course has been offered for four years and includes modules on road safety management, safer roads and mobility, safer vehicles, safer road users, post-crash response, and advocating for road safety passage and implementation.
